Rob McQueary

Rob grew up in the home of a pastor. In his younger years, this meant telling anyone who would ask that he would never be a pastor. God had other plans. At age 14, after a Sunday evening sermon, there was an altar call given, and Rob answered God’s call to vocational ministry. From that moment, he began to listen for wisdom, study books, and be in the same rooms with pastors who could teach him how to be a pastor. Many of these pastors showed kindness and helped set his heart toward empathetic ministry.

Formal training followed and led to a staff position and teaching at a Bible college in northern Wisconsin. From there, his first full-time position set the course for much of what future ministry would reflect. He was asked to serve as the English pastor at a Chinese church in his hometown, suburban Chicago. Those years were followed by two more wonderful student ministry experiences serving suburban churches near Washington, D.C., and Phoenix. Years in rural Kentucky provided a first-time senior pastor position, followed by 9 more years in student ministry in southwest Michigan. Church planting in suburban Atlanta brought beautiful years of opportunity and challenge. And the last 11 years or so have been serving for the first time in a megachurch both as a volunteer and as paid staff.

Rob and Christina have been married for 32 years. They have three young adult children.

The common thread in each of these seasons of ministry has been that Rob has constantly connected with other pastors for friendship, encouragement, and learning. He sees his call to be part of the PastorServe team as the consummation of more than 30 years of learning to build trust and equity with pastors. Another pastor recently introduced Rob to a ministry resident by saying, “This is Rob McQueary. He is a pastor to pastors.” He would love to connect with you, too.
