Cathryn Moyes
Cathryn Moyes has been a Christ follower since accepting Him as her Lord and Savior in 5th grade. After receiving a BA from Wheaton College and a BSN from Kansas University, she worked as a labor and delivery RN in Kansas City and as a research nurse for the University of Michigan Obstetrics Department.
She and her husband, Andy, have been married for 35 years and have lived in the Kansas City area since 1994. Cathryn cherished her time raising their four children. With Andy’s father having served as a pastor until his early death, Cathryn and Andy prioritize involvement in their local church and have often walked closely with pastors and missionaries through life’s joys and challenges. Cathryn served for 3 years on their church staff as Guest Services Director. Through volunteer and life experiences, she developed a heart for the loneliness and unique pressures that ministry leaders and their spouses face. Cathryn previously served on the board of Northwest Haiti Christian Mission.
Cathryn enjoys cooking, quilting, and hiking, but most of all, connecting with her husband and their adult children and their spouses. She also loves meeting with younger women and volunteers with a local crisis pregnancy center. Cathryn is deeply committed to pastors and ministry leaders, recognizing the local church’s critical role in proclaiming the gospel. She sees the growing disparity between God’s ways and the world’s ways, which intensifies the pressures on church leaders. She believes that pastors and ministry leaders need care, coaching, and crisis support for the health of the local church and its calling. She is honored to serve on the board of PastorServe.
