About Us
Our Story
From our start in 1999, the heart of PastorServe has been to care deeply for those we serve. We have been a trusted resource to pastors, church staffs, elder teams, and ministry leaders in the United States, Haiti, and across Latin America.
Our staff comprises veteran pastors and ministry leaders who serve as trusted allies, assisting in navigating the unique challenges and crises that pastors and ministry leaders face. Our ministry approach is gospel oriented and grace-filled.
We help pastors, denominational leaders, church networks, and other Kingdom servants make progress on challenges and opportunities. We are grateful for the trust that denominations, church networks, and ministry organizations have placed in us to provide guidance and care for their pastors and ministry leaders.
PastorServe has become widely respected for providing crisis care, and we are regularly called upon when pastors, churches, and ministry organizations experience crisis. Our desire is to prevent these crises from ever occurring; thus, our commitment to caring for and coaching ministry leaders so they can flourish in life and leadership.
At PastorServe, we are committed to strengthening the Church by serving pastors and ministry leaders.
the impacts we want to achieve
A Well-Nourished Soul
The health of a leader profoundly impacts the well-being of the local congregation. Whether in seasons of crisis or calm, we encourage leaders to cultivate holistic, life-giving rhythms that touch every part of their lives—especially their spiritual lives. Leaders need the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit. They thrive when they pursue healthy habits, deepen their relationship with Christ, and lead out of the overflow of a well-nourished soul.
Relational Connections
No pastor, ministry leader or spouse can survive in isolation. We prioritize and encourage ongoing attention to developing a relational ecosystem of support both inside and outside of the church. Leaders who invite others into their lives through honest, meaningful, life-sharing relationships experience greater growth, sustainability and joy.
Trusted Team Relationships
Pastors love well when they and their families are loved well by their congregation and staff, and vice versa. Our engagements foster honesty and open communication. Flourishing environments of grace and truth in local congregations and staff teams are undergirded by trust- filled relationships.
Resilient Leadership
Adaptable leadership is necessary in our complex and ever- changing world. We accompany both the leader and the organization as they create a culture of adaptability, confidence and conviction toward a shared goal of seeing the church become a vital part of God’s Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. A resilient leader weathers challenges and difficulties, sustained by God’s calling in their life.
How We Show Up
These values form the core of our existence. Everything else flows out of this essence. Believing the local church is God’s
primary means of redemption, we are committed to embodying these ideas in every situation, regardless of what
may happen.
Humble & Competent
We bring collective ministry experience to every situation, walking with humble confidence yet fully dependent on God, drawing on our personal journeys of struggle and healing.
Curious & Caring
We are lifelong learners, driven by curiosity and guided by compassion. We are active listeners,
asking questions before providing solutions.
Dependent & Hopeful
We depend on the Holy Spirit, rejoice in the Gospel, rest in our identity in Christ and are confident that God is holding all things together through Jesus
Christ.
Cooperative & Collaborative
We believe in the power of collective action. We
serve alongside ministry partners, with empathy and
understanding, to extend the compassion of Christ.
Honest & Trustworthy
We maintain the highest respect for confidentiality
regarding all relationships. We respond to every
issue and scenario with the utmost sensitivity,
encouragement, and sincere feedback.
What We Believe
These convictions, more than being held by us, consistently and wholly hold us. These ideas are the foundation of our beliefs, perceptions, and assumptions about people and the world around us. Every decision we make comes from this seedbed.
We believe no pastor or ministry leader should walk alone
Healthy relationships are vital for both the personal and professional well-being of pastors and ministry leaders. Leaders commonly gravitate to isolation, which breeds shame, fear, and doubt. Our interventions are based on building a foundation of ongoing relationships to push against unhealthy isolation, a primary contributor to mental health challenges.
We believe transformation happens best through personal connection
The most significant work of PastorServe comes through trusting relationships and interventions that personally bring care and support to those in need.
We believe God’s love transcends all social barriers
We embrace the unbounded care of God for all peoples in all places and our hands-on commitments reflect this.
We believe a pastor’s health is catalytic
A pastor’s health has a ripple effect. Impacting their family, church leadership, congregation, and the broader community. By helping pastors thrive, we strengthen the Church and its mission, both today and for generations to come.
We believe pastoral ministry is uniquely challenging
In an increasingly difficult and complex world, pastors are called upon to shepherd with skillful hands and integrity of heart. We recognize the unique challenges faced by pastors and their families and are committed to journey alongside them.
We believe that God brings true transformation in the lives of pastors and ministry leaders and invites us to participate in His work
We are honored to bring Gospel- centered guidance as we seek to join the renewing and restorative work the Spirit is already doing in pastors and ministry leaders.
the approach we take
We believe that every endeavor is guided by a set of commitments, not just about the why and the what, but also the how. These are the ways we are committed to engaging those we serve. This is our approach.
Relationship is the means and the end
We sit with, not across from, pastors, ministry leaders and spouses, our own scars of experience providing empathy and approachability. Each relationship is marked by deep listening and probing questions in a safe, non- judgmental and confidential space. While we may probe, we do not force our way into areas where we have not been invited, always moving the relationship at the speed of trust. We pray over each individual, acknowledging their position in Christ and validating the call on their lives.
Understanding there is always more to the story
We take the time to listen deeply, asking questions to gain understanding and context. In situations of crisis or misunderstanding, we converse with all involved parties before we advise or share our observations. Transformation of a heart takes place deep below the surface circumstances or behaviors. We seek to support and restore struggling leaders to Christ, their spouse, their family, their friends, but not always to vocational ministry.
Never making Backstageassumptions based on Frontstage performance
There is a tendency for pastor and ministry leaders to separate their public and private lives, which is understandable given their unique and often lonely leadership position. We come alongside and encourage healthy integration and transparency, addressing the whole person. We encourage pastors and
ministry leaders to live before an audience of One.
Offering fresh perspective
Even a pastor or leader who is secure in their calling can feel stuck or overwhelmed by difficult relationships, unstable organizational systems, or a misfit of their gifting and strengths to the role that pulls them outside of their sweet spot of serving. This has a draining effect, jeopardizing sustainability and potentially eroding trust. As experienced and compassionate guides, we help to assess the bigger picture, shifting their gaze from the immediate and dire to a hopeful, re- energized perspective that makes it possible to see next steps.
Care, above all
The power of our approach is care. We seek the Lord on behalf of pastors, congregations, and ministries, trusting in God’s deep and loving concern for them. Before seeking solutions or advising, our instinctive response to challenges or crises is one of pastoral care. We care for leaders so they are strengthened to care for those they serve.
