Family is a Pastor’s Primary Ministry

I’m Wesley Horne. And thank you for taking a minute to consider how you can
encourage your pastor.

The Apostle Paul is quite clear in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 that a pastor’s family is his primary congregation.

In one church, I had a study in contrasts. One leader was regularly chafing when I would say no because I was prioritizing my family. On the other hand, another leader could not do enough to encourage, promote, and even help provide quality time for my family, my first congregation.

Which are you like?

The difference can make a difference in that family for generations.

So, here’s what I want you to do.

I want you to stop. And I want you to think, “What could I do?”

Give them tickets. Give them a gift card. You or a group of people together can help send them on a wonderful family trip.

But don’t invite yourself unless they absolutely beg because this is for them, and it’s about them.

Thank you for taking a minute to consider how you can encourage your pastor.
