Rick gained his early focus in relationship ministry from his mentor Dr. Gary Chapman, whom he served with for 12 years. His private counseling practice is in Overland Park, KS, where he specializes in Gospel-focused attachment theory.
He has become known for his work hosting pastors and their spouses for 2-3 day private counseling intensives. His education is from Moody Bible Institute, Covenant Seminary, and MidAmerica Nazarene University. He and his wife, Laura, have been married for 21 years, and together they have six children ranging from 5 to 17 years old.
